In a documet from the year 1576 I found news about the death of "czersarz Przekopski". Could you please give me some information about it? Is "Przekopsko" a Polish name for Persia or a Turkish chanate? With many thanks... (and apologies for not being able to write in Polnish, but you can answer in Polnish I understand it passively)

QUOTE(kockacz @ 17/09/2007, 12:02) , but you can answer in Polnish

edit.
"Cersarz Przekopski" is not polish surname but a title which comes from the name of stronghold in Crimean Chanate- "Perekop".
BTW cesarz in polish means emperor.

It's rather refers to the leader of Perekop Orde, and of course this was Crimean Khanate (not Turkish Khanate)

Crimean Khanate consist of many ordes, so this could not mean a Crimean Khan (Khanate ruler) but just local leader.

QUOTE Crimean Khanate consist of many ordes, so this could not mean a Crimean Khan (Khanate ruler) but just local leader. I have to disagree - the word "cesarz" implies very important person, and the only time I've seen similar contruction - "car perekopski" - it meant Crimean Khan.

It's possible, I forgot that especially on Ukraine Crimean Khan was often called the Tsar of Perekop..
QUOTE Toie że oseni, z naprawy welikoho kniazia moskowskoho Mendy-Kirey, car perekopski, posłał syna swojeho Achmat-Kirey sołtana so innymi detmi swoimi y z mnohimi siłami tatarskimi
Mendy Kirey = Mengli Girey I (Khan of Crimea)

Once more many thanks. Then the writer of the hand-written newspapers have to mean Devlet I Girey. When did he die? I meant in 1577. But this newspaper should be from summer 1576. Then the archivar made a mistake by dating this document to the year 1576...

Yes, Devlet Girey died of plague in the end of June 1577...so your explanation about archiver mistake seems to be resonable.
