Ciekawa praca odnosnie wrakow odnalezionych przy Wolinie...
QUOTE
Shipping and shipbuilding played a major role from the very beginning of Wolin at the end of the 8th century and they are strongly correlated with the development of the town. From the beginning, shipbuilding emerges in a developed form, although we can see some changes over the 400 years (the shape of keel for example). It is surprising that so few artefacts of foreign, particular Scandinavian, provenance were found. Mostly the material is very homogenous and represents Slavic shipbuilding. The certain sea connections are between Wolin and Polabian Slavs, and Wolin and Schleswig. This gives some basis to much broader thoughts — whether large numbers of imported artefacts, which appears in Wolin from the mid-9th century and reach their peak the 10th and mid-11th century (Filipowiak & Konopka, 2008: pp. 257–258) came to Wolin on ships built in Slavic boatbuilding tradition. In other words, could we say that Wolin was surrounded by the trade network supported by the Slavs? It would not be so surprising; when we look at the map, Wolin is surrounded by the Slav tribes at that time. And another question — can we see through this set of artefacts, often stressed by Władysław Filipowiak, the major role of Wolin in the water connection with hinterland, where the Piast State was emerging?

A Polish admixture signal was detected in Zealand and Funen and our date estimates coincided with historical evidence of Wend settlements in the south of Denmark. We also observed considerably diverse demographic histories among Scandinavian countries, with Denmark having the smallest current effective population size compared to Norway and Sweden. Finally, we found that polygenic prediction of self-reported adolescent height in the population was remarkably accurate (R2 = 0.639±0.015). The high homogeneity of the Danish population could render population structure a lesser concern for the upcoming large-scale gene-mapping studies in the country.

Prawdopodobnie pochodzili z Mon, Falster...
