I am writing to you in Czech and in English. I truly am asking for your help. I am asking tha you can help me with a Canadian professor, who is on holiday, and is interested in historical sites in Poland, the Czech Republic, and in Slovakia, regarding the "Hudites", which was a religious organization in Poland and the former Czechoslovakia in the 18th and 19th centuries, and which had an influence in North America. The professor wishes that places and towns could be found, in Poland, the Czech Republic and in Slovakia, where he could visit the historic sites and places of this religion while he and his wife are in Europe.

Ja Vam Dekuju mnoho krat za Vase pomoc!

I thank you many times for your help!

Z pozdravem,
Best Regards,

Adam Pollack

I'm not pretty sure, but I think that the author of the e-mail maybe just wanted to gather information about 'Hussites' (Polish Husyci, Czech Husité). And in this case it would be easier to help him in this area, but I don't know what with the time period (18th, 19th century) - Hussites have existed since XIV Century till now. confused1.gif

Of course there might be another kind of the religious organisation with the similar name, but then unfortunately it could be really difficult to find proper materials about that.

Quite an interesting topic, I have to say...I tried hard, but I haven't succed in finding out what the word "Hudites" mean, yet. I'd be very willing to help but unfortunately without having clear understanding of the subject I cannot do anything. I don't agree with Rothar, beacause look "regarding the "Hudites", which was a religious organization in Poland and the former Czechoslovakia in the 18th and 19th centuries, and which had an influence in North America"... and I found some English websites containing the word "Hudites" however I haven't yet understood it. So it cannot be about Hussites... I'd be really glad if the author of the e-mail gave us some more information... I hope it was not just a mistake in spelling, I mean the word "Hudites"...

IMHO it is more probable that this word "Hudites" should look like this "Husides" and can come from another word "Hassides"... That would be sensible....wouldn't it?

Looking forward to hearing from you wink.gif

There is not a grain of info about "Hudities" sect/cult (?) on the Web, not a single page ... Descrtiption provided by Mr. Pollack indicates rather sizeable group of followers therefore some kind of documentation should exist - but where ? We need more details.
